Bhubaneswar: IIM-Lucknow is conducting a study on the ‘One-Rupee’ Clinic, which was started on February 12 last year by Dr Shankar Ramchandani, an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR), Burla, in Odisha’s Sambalpur district.
IIM-Lucknow’s Prof N Reddy and Prof Satya Bhusan Dash are jointly carrying out the study.
The study on the ‘One-Rupee’ Clinic by IIM-Lucknow was announced at a programme where Dr Ramchandani was felicitated by the Pravasi Odia Vikash Samiti in New Delhi on April 24.
The aim of the study is to find ways to make healthcare cheaper for poor people.
Dr Ramchandani has also started giving essential medicines to poor patients at Rs 1 from February 12 this year, when the ‘One-Rupee’ Clinic completed one year.
