Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rain and thundershowers at a few places over north coastal Odisha and at isolated places over the rest of Odisha during the next 24 hours.
The cyclonic circulation over west central Bay of Bengal and the neighbourhood now lies over west central and adjoining areas of northwest Bay of Bengal, north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha coasts between 3.1 km and 5.8 km above mean sea level. Yesterday’s trough in the easterlies is now seen as a trough of low pressure at mean sea level from southwest Bay of Bengal to north Bay of Bengal and extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level.
Under the influence of steep pressure gradient, strong surface wind is likely over deep sea areas. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the deep sea of north and adjoining west central Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours.
