Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm coupled with rain and gusty wind is likely to lash at least five districts of Odisha on Saturday afternoon, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a nowcast warning.
In a message, the weather agency issued an orange warning for Nayagarh, Dhenkanal, Koraput, Boudh and Cuttack districts (including Cuttack city).
Moderate thunderstorm with moderate rain along with wind speed reaching 40 kmph and lightning may hit these districts by 5.30 pm.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather for worsening conditions and be ready to move to safer places accordingly to be safe from lightning strike.
