Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange and yellow warnings for several districts of Odisha, including twin cities Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, till 5.30 pm on Thursday.
Moderate thunderstorms, lightning and rain with surface wind 30-40 kmph gusting to 50 kmph may occur at a few places in the districts of Angul, Boudh and Deogarh in the next 3 hours.
Light to moderate rain or thundershower along with lightning may also occur in Bargarh, Nuapada, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Khurda (including Bhubaneswar), Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Nayagarh, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Balangir, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Boudh, Kandhamal, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Angul, Deogarh and Mayurbhanj till 4.50 pm.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
