Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red warning for two districts of Odisha till 5 pm on Monday.
Intense thunderstorms, lightning and hail accompanied by gusty surface wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph and moderate rain with one or two intense spells of rain may affect some parts of Mayurbhanj and Balasore districts in the next two hours.

The weather agency has warned of damage to thatched huts, power and communication lines due to breaking of branches, standing crops, banana and papaya trees and orchards, besides waterlogging in low-lying areas. People have been advised to take shelter in concrete structures instead of trees.
