Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Friday apprehended in-charge headmaster of Budaguda Government Girls’ High School in Kendrapada district, Kumarmani Mallick, while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000.
According to a Vigilance release, he had demanded the illegal gratification from a woman staffer of the school to regularise the period of absence and drawl of salary of the last two months. He was nabbed while accepting the bribe money through Phonepe. The mobile phone in which he received the money was also seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches were conducted at three locations linked to Mallick to ascertain whether he has accumulated assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, it added.
