Hisar: In a rerun of the gruesome Meerut murder, a YouTuber has been arrested for strangling her husband to death with the help of her lover and then disposing the body in a drain in Haryana’s Hisar district.
The husband, who was opposed to his wife’s activities on social media, was killed after he caught her and her lover in a compromising position on March 25, the police have claimed. On March 4, Muskan Rastogi and her lover Sahil Shukla had stabbed Muskan’s husband Saurabh Rajput to death and stuffed his body in a drum containing wet cement.
In the latest case, 32-year-old Raveena met Suresh on Instagram and the two started making short videos together in Hisar’s Premnagar. They continued making the videos for over one-and-a-half years despite objections from Raveena’s husband Praveen and his family.
Through her short videos and dance reels, Raveena got a following of 34,000 on YouTube. Her videos also featured other artists. She would quarrel frequently with Praveen over such content.
On March 25, Praveen (35) allegedly caught Raveena and Suresh in a compromising position and got into a fight with the two. The two then allegedly strangulated him with a dupatta. Later at night, they carried Praveen’s body on a motorcycle to the Dinnod Road drain and dumped it there. This location is six km from Raveena’s house.
On being asked about Praveen’s whereabouts by his family, Raveena said that she wasn’t aware. Praveen’s body was found on March 28 and an investigation began. The police scanned CCTV footage and found Raveena and Suresh carrying Praveen’s body in between them on a motorcycle.
“Both have been arrested and charged with murder. The six-year old son of Praveen and Raveena is now living with his grandfather and uncle,” a police official said.
