[In Pictures] Election Of Droupadi Murmu As President: Odisha BJP Leaders Celebrate In Bhubaneswar Party Office

Bhubaneswar: Odisha unit of BJP joined the country in celebrating the election of Droupadi Murmu as President of India on Thursday.

State president of the party Samir Mohanty said it is a historical day and a matter of pride for all Odias that the daughter of Odisha is going to occupy the highest constitutional post in the country. Praising the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for nomination of Murmu as NDA’s Presidential candidate, Mohanty said he has made the dream of founders of Indian Constitution come true.

“The Father of the Constitution Dr BR Ambedkar had said when the person in the lowest strata of society will occupy the highest office of the country, India will really become independent. Today is that day. Coming from a tribal community in remote corner of Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district, Murmu has proved that our democracy is on right path,” said Mohanty.

He celebrated the occasion with BJP legislators, leaders and workers by exchanging sweets in the party headquarters in Bhubaneswar. There was celebration in party offices in all district headquarters of the state also.
