Incentives For Odisha Health Care Workers On COVID-19 Duty

Bhubaneswar: All contractual, outsourced healthcare professionals and volunteers on COVID-19 duty will be provided incentives in Odisha.

The Health and Family Welfare department stated that additional one month remuneration, from April to July, will be provided to contractual and outsourced staff working under the department.

Besides this, an incentive of Rs 1,000 per month will be given to each ASHA Karmi for the same period. ASHA Karmis have been engaged in surveillance, contract tracing, containment measures and mobilisation of beneficiaries for COVID vaccination besides their routine activities under NHM.

“In view of surge in COVID-19 cases and massive vaccination programme, it is highly essential to keep the morale of these contractual /outsourced staffs high so as to enhance their efficiency and effectiveness. The incentive amount will be met out of ECRP fund supported by MoH&FW, Govt. of India under NHM and respective State budget scheme fund as paid in the year 2020,” the notification read.
