New Delhi: A 16-year-old TikTok star, Siya Kakkar, has allegedly committed suicide. She was found hanging at her residence in the Geeta Colony area here.
No suicide note was recovered near the spot, the police said.
“The body was handed over to her family for the last rites on Thursday. The reason behind such an extreme step is yet to be ascertained,” a senior police officer said.
Kakkar reportedly had over one million followers on the short-video platform TikTok and 1.35 lakh followers on Instagram.
Celebrity photographer Viral Bhayani posted about Kakkar’s death on Instagram and wrote, “I spoke to her Talent management agency head Arjun Sarin who just spoke to her last night for a song collaboration and he says she was in a good mood and perfectly alright. Even he has no clue what went wrong that she had to go this way.”
