India Demolish West Indies By Innings & 272 Runs

Rajkot: What started with a blistering knock by debutant Prithvi Shaw, became more dramatic as India romped home on the 3rd day of the the first test against West Indies in Rajkot on Saturday to go 1-0 up in the two-match series.

India scored 649 for nine in their 1st innings. West Indies were all out for 181 in 48 overs, enforcing the follow-on on Saturday. Their 2nd innings was equally lackluster with the team being bundled out for 196 the same day, losing the match by 272 runs.

Among the Indian bowlers, spinner Kuldeep Yadav’s 5 for 57 in the 2nd innings preceded by Ravichandran Ashwin’s 4 wicket haul in the 1st paved the way for India’s victory.

Apart from Man of the Match Prithvi Shaw, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja scored centuries as well.

For the West Indies team, Kieran Powell was the only significant scorer with 83 off 93 balls with 8 boundaries and 4 sixes.

The final match will be played in Hyderabad.
