India Reports Over 6500 New COVID Patients In 24 Hours, Nagaland Its First Case; Total 1.4 Lakh
New Delhi: The total coronavirus cases in the country touched 1,45,380 with 6,535 fresh infections being reported in the last 24 hours, as per the data shared by the Health Ministry till 8 am on Tuesday.
The death toll has gone up to 4,167.
While Maharashtra continued to be the worst hit with COVID-19 pandemic, it witnessed a decline in the daily cases count on Monday. With 2,436 new patients, the total number of cases in Maharashtra now stands at 52,667.
The infected tally in Tamil Nadu rose to 17,082 followed by Gujarat (14,460), Delhi (14,053), the Ministry reported.
Meanwhile, Nagaland reported its maiden case with three persons testing positive for the virus. They had recently returned from Chennai.
On a positive note, India’s recovery rate improved to 41.6 per cent with total 60,490 patients having been fully cured so far, it added.
