India-South Africa T20: OHRC Notice To OCA Over Lack Of Fire Safety At Cuttack’s Barabati Stadium

Cuttack: Even as preparations are on in full swing at the Barabati Stadium here for India-South Africa T20 International, alleged lack of fire safety measures has thrown a spanner in the enthusiasm of cricket fans.

Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) on Tuesday issued notice to Cuttack DCP and Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) secretary over alleged lack of fire safety measures at the stadium. The Commission has sought reply by May 26.

The notice comes with less a month to go got the T20 international scheduled to be held at the stadium on June 12.

It may be mentioned that on Monday DCP Cuttack, Pinak Mishra took stock of  the preparations for the upcoming match.

If all goes well, Barabati will be hosting an international match after a gap of two-and-a-half years.
