Indian Army Carries Out ‘Pinpoint Strikes’ On Terror Launchpads In PoK: Report
In response to Pakistan’s repeated ceasefire violations on the Line of Control (LoC) and efforts to push terrorists into India, the Indian Army was on Thursday engaged in carrying out “pinpoint strikes” on suspected terror launchpads inside Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), PTI has reported.
According to highly-placed sources, targeted strikes are being carried out based on Intelligence inputs, to neutralise terrorists who operate from PoK. Collateral damage has been very negligible during these operations so far, they have informed PTI.
It may be recalled Indian carried out aerial strikes on terrorist centres in PoK’s Balakot in February 2019 to avenge the Pulwama terror attack in Jammu & Kashmir.
Pakistan Army has aggressively targeted civilians on Indian side of the LoC in recent weeks. They have resorted to indiscriminate firing with heavy calibre artillery guns and backed infiltration of terrorists into Jammu & Kashmir.
According to official data, 21 innocent civilians have been killed in Pakistani firing already this year, compared to 18 in the entire 2019.
“Pakistan has sought to target the peaceful villagers living alongside the Indian side of the LoC in order to send a message to the inhabitants of Kashmiri hinterland that to disobey Pakistani diktats and directives on terrorism will prove lethal,” a military source was quoted as saying.
