Bhubaneswar: Odisha athletes performed creditably in the Indian Open Athletics Meet at Ranchi.
Amiya Kumar Mallick emerged fastest in men’s 100m, clocking 10.66 seconds in Race A, ahead of another Odisha sprinter Abinash Sahu (10.71) at Birsa Munda Stadium.
In Race B, Odisha’s Mahendra Santa finished second in 10.94 seconds, behind Haryana’s Dharmbir (10.74).
Srabani Nanda maintained Odisha’s dominance in sprints, winning both the 100m and 200m races.
Srabani topped the 100m event in a time of 12.33 seconds, while she won the 200m in 24.75 secs.
In men’s 200m, Astik Pradhan did Odisha proud by winning race C by stopping the clock at 21.78 seconds.
Ashok Dandasena excelled in men’s 1,500m, winning the race in 3 mins 53.07 seconds.
