Indian Rlys Extends COVID Restrictions For 6 More Months
Bhubaneswar: The Indian Railways has extended the COVID restrictions for its staff and the passengers for six more months.
The Railway Board in a circular on Thursday stated that the current COVID guidelines have been extended for another six months. Anybody found not using the face mask on railway premises or during travel can be fined up to Rs 500, it added.
“To prevent spitting and act of similar nature by ensuring wearing of face masks by all persons on railway premises (including trains), fine upto Rs 500 under Indian Railways (penalties for activities affecting cleanliness on railway premises) Rules 2012 will be imposed,” the circular said.
The Indian Railways has issued a similar circular in April to contain the spread of the pandemic.
