India’s Tallest Man Seeks To Dwarf Political Opponents

Lucknow: At 8 feet 1 inch, he’s the tallest man in India, and has been acknowledged by The Guinness World Records as well.

Now, Dharmendra Pratap Singh will be more visible as he has taken the plunge in politics.

Ahead of the UP Assembly elections, Dharmendra joined Samajwadi Party (SP) in the presence of Akhilesh Yadav and other party leaders.

“I will work to take the party to greater heights and dwarf the stature of my opponents. The stature of the rival political parties has already been reduced as a number of their leaders have joined the BJP,” Dharmendra was quoted as saying by PTI.

“Whatever duties are assigned to me by the party, I will discharge them to the best of my ability. If the party asks me to campaign for SP chief Akhilesh bhaiya, then I will go to Karhal and seek votes for him,” he added.

He is also open to the idea of contesting the polls, if given a ticket. Given a choice, he will prefer to fight from Pratapgarh, his home constituency.

A Masters degree holder and former event manager, Dharmendra had featured in some of SP’s election campaigns where onlookers were interested in taking pictures/selfies with the giant of a man.

Now, he will have bigger responsibility, especially at a time when crucial polls in the state is round the corner.

Dharmendra has had his share of bad luck as he was involved in a car accident in 2013. In 2019, he underwent a hip replacement surgery.
