Bhubaneswar: IndiGo will soon launch direct flights from Bhubaneswar to Visakhapatnam, making it the fifth southern city connected to Odisha capital after Chennai, Bengaluru, Kochi, and Hyderabad.
While start date for the service is yet to be announced, the official website shows that booking for the same is available from June 12.
This follows IndiGo’s first international flight from Bhubaneswar to Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, which will operate three times a week from June 12.
An airport official noted that the direct flight replaces the previous one-stop connection to Visakhapatnam, fostering opportunities in business, health, and education.
In April, Bhubaneswar added flights to Ghaziabad, Port Blair, and Goa, bringing its domestic destinations to 28. Visakhapatnam will be the 29th.
