Angul: With the district witnessing a sudden rise in COVID-19 cases, the local administration on Tuesday directed the industries to restrict the movement of their employees and those coming from other states.
Angul Collector Manoj Kumar Mohanty, in a letter, told the industrial plants to impose restrictions on the movement of their employees and those coming from outside Odisha in the plant area and township.
The collector said if the plants fail to follow the direction, the administration will be forced to declare a complete shutdown in plant areas in the greater interest of public health.
The letter further stated that some employees and business executives, who have come from COVID hot spots, have been found to be visiting different plants. Some corona positive cases have also been detected from the employees of the industrial houses coming from other states, the letter added.
Total 69 persons have tested corona positive in Angul district till date.
