Mumbai: Influencer and content creator Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, was mobbed by fans and paparazzi outside the office of the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch on Wednesday.
He reached the office in response to a summons in connection with a Rs 252 crore drugs case. Actor Shraddha Kapoor’s brother Siddhanth was questioned in the same matter on Tuesday.
Drug trafficker Mohammad Salim Mohammad Suhail Shaikh, known to be close the Dawood Ibrahim gang, was deported from Dubai recently. During interrogation, he said that he had organised lavish parties in Dubai and Mumbai, allegedly attended by several high-profile figures, including Nora Fatehi, Shraddha Kapoor, Siddhant Kapoor, filmmakers Abbas–Mustan, rapper Loka, Orry, and NCP leader Zeeshan Siddique.
The celebrities are being questioned in this connection. Orry, who was summoned earlier, had requested additional time to present himself. He finally appeared before investigators on Wednesday.
Fans and the media had got wind of his visit and had gathered outside the office in large numbers, jostling to capture photos and videos. Amid the chaos, the influencer made his way through the crowd, avoiding posing or giving any quotes to the paparazzi.
Several images show Orry being surrounded and closely escorted through a tightly packed crowd. Several cameras are pointed in his direction, and microphones are visible. Orry is seen wearing glasses and a brown patterned shirt.
Orry’s representative had appeared before the ANC earlier and told the police that he was out of the city and would be able to join the probe into an alleged drug trafficking syndicate linked with the Dawood Ibrahim gang only after November 25.
Orry has not commented on the summons publicly.
