New Delhi: It’s been 10 days since India conducted Operation Sindoor to destroy nine selected terror sites in Pakistan and PoK, and a week since the two countries agreed to stop all military action after four days of hostilities across the border.
However, the politics over Operation Sindoor and India-Pakistan conflict is far from over.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi hit out at the government on Saturday for “informing” Pakistan about targeting terror infrastructure as part of Operation Sindoor, saying it was a “crime.”
In a post on X, the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha also questioned who had authorised External Affairs minister (EAM) S Jaishankar to inform Pakistan.
“Informing Pakistan at the start of our attack was a crime. EAM has publicly admitted that GOI did it. Who authorised it? How many aircraft did our air force lose as a result?” Rahul wrote along with an undated video of Jaishankar saying India had informed Pakistan of the action against terror infrastructure on its soil.

Jaishankar can be heard saying in the video, “At the start of the operation, we had sent a message to Pakistan, saying, ‘We are striking at terrorist infrastructure and we are not striking at the military’. So the military has the option of standing out and not interfering in this process. They chose not to take that good advice.”
PIB dismissed claims on Friday
On Friday, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) debunked claims on social media about Jaishankar having informed Pakistan ahead of Operation Sindoor.
“The social media post falsely implies from External Affairs Minister @DrSJaishankar’s statement that India informed Pakistan before the start of #OperationSindoor. #PIBFactCheck: EAM is being misquoted and he has not made this statement; Remain vigilant and avoid falling for deceptive information,” PIB Fact Check tweeted on Friday evening.
However, that didn’t refer to Jaishankar’s statement on camera, which Rahul shared this afternoon.
