Dubai: It’s another big final for Team India as they gear up to face off with New Zealand for the coveted Champions Trophy.
Rohit Sharma’s men in blue need all top guns to be fit and go all guns blazing against the Black Caps at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
According to a Geo News report, star batter Virat Kohli suffered an injury during practice on Saturday.
Kohli, one of the pillars of Indian batting, was reportedly hit near his knee while facing a pacer in the nets.
The 36-year-old Kohli was attended to by the team physio and other staff as he halted training and watched his teammates at the nets.
Kohli, who has an outstanding record while chasing targets, hit an unbeaten 100 against Pakistan in a crucial Group A game and an 84 in the semifinal against Australia to guide India past the finishing line earlier in the tournament.
The team, along with millions of Indian fans, will be hoping that Kohli’s injury is not serious enough to prevent his participation in the final.
The coaching staff are confident that Kohli’s injury won’t hamper his chances of playing against New Zealand on Sunday.
