New Delhi: In a heart-warming gesture, Zomato announced a new dress code option for its female delivery personnel.

They will now have the option to wear kurtas during their delivery assignments.

To make their female delivery partners feel special, the modification in dress code was unveiled on International Women’s Day.

The restaurant aggregator and food delivery company took to Instagram on Friday to share its thoughtful initiative for those who were not comfortable wearing T-shirts.

“Starting today, Zomato’s women delivery partners can choose to wear a kurta,” Zomato stated along with a video showcasing the new dress.

“Many female delivery partners expressed discomfort with the western-style Zomato T-shirts. So, we gave them a choice,” the Indian multinational company specified.

Most of the users appreciated Zomato’s move.

“Zomato, you nailed the marketing game. You touch hearts like no one else,” wrote one person.

“How cool. Empowerment looks different for everyone,” expressed another netizen.

“Has to be one of the most heartwarming videos I’ve watched in a long time,” felt one user.

Another person had a piece of advice for Zomato: “Nice initiative, but I hope you are working towards decent wages, a good work environment, and facilities for your employees, as many delivery partners complain about unfair wages and working conditions.”
