IOCL To Provide Gas Cylinder At Rs 200 To Calamity-Ravaged Ujjwala Beneficiaries
Bhubaneswar: The Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) has decided to distribute LPG cylinders at subsidised rates among the flood and cyclone-affected consumers of Ganjam, Gajapati and Rayagada districts.
To mitigate the enormous difficulties being faced by them in cooking food, Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) on Sunday announced that beneficiaries under the Ujjwala scheme can avail a cylinder at Rs 200 and non-beneficiaries belonging to APL families at Rs 1,200 per cylinder. They can collect it from the nearest distributor, sources said.
The assistance was being provided to calamity-ravaged people according to a directive of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
Special camps would also be organised by distributors of the OMCs in far-flung areas to facilitate distribution of the gas cylinders.
The LPG consumers, who lost all their documents in the cyclone and subsequent flood, will also be assisted in getting a new one. All they have to do is submit proof from government agencies like the Tahasil Office/Block office/GP office certifying that they have been affected by the cyclone Titli and (or) flood (caused by Titli), the sources added.
