Bengaluru: Almost a fortnight into its 18th edition, IPL frenzy is rising across the country.
The 10 teams are playing in 13 venues, while the organisers have also arranged Fan Parks in 50 other cities where cricket lovers can watch the action on big screens, accompanied by music, entertainment, food courts, children’s play zones, and various fun activities.
People from different walks of life join the two month-long IPL bandwagon in their own ways.
Among them is Bengaluru auto driver Azzu Sultan.
He Is offering free rides to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fans, but on one condition – they have to be wearing the team’s jersey.
Siltan has become a sensation on social media since he shared a video on Instagram where he explains his ‘offer’.
Sultan, who operates around Indira Nagar Metro station, says that his free rides would be available within a 5-kilometer radius, including trips to the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, which is the home ground of Virat Kohli’s team.
RCB, who are yet to win the IPL, have kicked off their 2025 campaign in roaring style, with two away wins against three-time former champions Kolkata Knight Riders and five-time winners Chennai Super Kings under new captain Rajat Patidar.
On Wednesday evening, in an hour’s time from now, RCB will be stepping out on to the Chinnaswamy Stadium for their first home game, against Gujarat Titans.
Amid the enthusiasm and optimism for their maiden title triumph, the auto driver posted: “This time, the cup is ours! Who do you think will win?”
