IPL Final: Rajkummar, Janhvi, Shah Rukh Cheer KKR To Their Third Title
Chennai: Co-owner Shah Rukh Khan has been a permanent fixture at Kolkata Knight Riders’ matches at IPL 2024. He had a heatstroke after the win in Qualifier 1 at Ahmedabad on Tuesday and had to be hospitalised, but recovered in time to turn up at Sunday’s final against the same opponents, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), along with wife Gauri and their children.
There were many others from Bollywood to root for KKR at MA Chidambaram Stadium, such as Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. And they all had a ball as KKR romped to an eight-wicket victory with almost 10 overs to spare in what was one of the most one-sided finals in IPL’s 17-year history.

Having dismissed Sunrisers Hyderabad for a paltry 113 – lowest total in an IPL final – KKR raced to 114.2 in 10.3 overs, thanks to Venkatesh Iyer’s unbeaten 52 off 26 balls (4×4, 3×6).
It was KKR’s third IPL title, and their first since 2014. Gautam Gambhir, who was captain when KKR emerged champions in 2012 and 2014, is the mentor of the current team and can claim a large part of the credit for this triumph as well.
In what has been a terrific campaign, KKR won 11 matches and lost only 3, while 2 of their games were washed out.
