Bhubaneswar: Peeved over longstanding drainage issues in their locality, irate locals of Khandagiri area staged a road blockade on National Highway 16 near Khandagiri Square here on Sunday.
Vehicular movement on the busy road was disrupted for some hours as the agitators burned tyres and staged demonstration seeking immediate solution to sort out their problems.
“The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) must take appropriate steps to check drain water from entering into our houses and submerging the roads in our localities, failing which the agitation will be intensified in the days to come”, one of the agitators said.
