IRCTC To Run Special Train To These 3 Tourist Destinations From Sept 25
Bhubaneswar: The IRCTC has announced a Pilgrim Special tourist train to three popular destinations in India from September 25.
The special arrangements have been made by Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation of India for the holy Mahalaya day when people all over the country offer ‘pind daan’ to their ancestors.
The special train will depart from Cuttack station to Varanasi, Praya Raj at Allahabad where the Triveni Sangam is located and Gaya which is a popular destination for the annual ‘pind daan’ offerings.
The train will run from September 25 to October 1, informed Dr Kranti Savarkar, IRCTC, Regional Manager, Bhubaneswar.
A special package of 6 nights 7 days has been arranged for this special train. While the non-AC sleeper price has been fixed at Rs 6,620 the third AC price is Rs 11,020, she said and added that 5 coaches of non-AC and AC will be part of the train.
The packages include three meals a day besides the beverages and hotel or dharamshala stay, security staff and doctors. The support staff will be travelling with the tourists, she added.
Keeping the COVID pandemic in mind all measures have been taken to sanitise the coaches from time-to-time and the doctor will be with the tourists 24×7.
Of the 656 berths in the train, 50 per cent bookings have been completed so far, said Dr Savarkar and is hopeful that the train will run to its destinations in full capacity.
