Mumbai: The Mumbai police have arrested nine persons in connection with the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique.
During the investigation, the Mumbai cops found photo of Zeeshan Siddique, late Baba Siddique’s son and Congress MLA from Mumbai Suburban’s Vandre East constituency, on the phone of one of the accused, as reported by NDTV.
Zeeshan’s photo was shared with the accused through Snapchat, a platform which was used by the conspirators to send messages to each other.
After reading the instructions, the accused were instructed to delete the messages instantly by their handler, allegedly belonging to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Former NCP leader Baba Siddique was shot dead by three shooters near his MLA son’s office in Bandra area on October 12.
One of the arrested, Kanoujia told the investigating officers that Shubham Lonkar was the conspirator and the handler of the shooters in the Siddique murder case.
Initially, the contract for killing Siddique was offered to Kanoujia, but when he demanded an exorbitant Rs 1 crore, the main conspirator Lonkar hired contract killers from Uttar Pradesh, who had little knowledge of the politician’s popularity.
Meanwhile, Zeeshan Siddique’s photo on the accused’s phone raises questions about the safety of the young MLA. Is he the next target of the Bishnoi gang?
