New Delhi/Islamabad: Even as Pakistan plays the ‘peacemaker’ between the US and Iran, a top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander has exposed the country’s links to the 2025 Pahalgam terror attack that left 26 innocent people dead in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a video that has now gone viral, Abu Musa Kashmiri can be heard saying that the attack boosted Pakistan’s global standing and took the country “50 years forward”, as reported by timesnow.in.
“After Bunyan-un-Marsoos, Pakistan’s international image was boosted… I don’t know if the Pahalgam attacks were right or wrong… but the actions that followed in the form of Pakistan’s Bunyan-un-Marsoos, in response to India’s Operation Sindoor, which had failed miserably, have taken our country 50 years forward,” the terrorist says.
Musa also speaks about the ongoing ceasefire talks between the US and Iran to end the war in the Middle East. His comments also contradict Islamabad’s consistent denial of involvement in the terror attack.
New Delhi’s accusations of its involvement was “replete with fabrication”, Pakistan had said, while its armed forces maintained that India had failed to produce evidence.
After the attack, India had exposed Pakistan as a “rogue state” supporting terrorists through a global outreach, laying bare the country’s history of supporting and funding terrorist organisations.
India had retaliated to the terror attack by striking terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Over 100 terrorists, including high-value targets like Yusuf Azhar, Abdul Malik Rauf, and Mudasir Ahmed, were successfully eliminated in Operation Sindoor.
Pakistan attempted to strike back by launching missiles and drones towards both military and civilian targets in India. However, most of these were intercepted. On May 10, India hit back, targeting several Pakistani air bases through precise missile strikes.
Later in the day, inflicted by this heavy damage, Pakistan’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) called the Indian DGMO, seeking cessation of operations.
