Mumbai: After winning the Salman Khan-hosted reality show ‘Bigg Boss 19’, actor Gaurav Khanna launched his own YouTube channel, where he recently interacted with fans and answered their questions.
When a fan asked Gaurav if he plans to return to the Rupali Ganguly-led sitcom ‘Anupamaa,’ the actor said the decision is not in his hands, but he would consider coming back if there is something interesting for him.
Replying to the fan, Gaurav wrote, “Brother, you are asking this question to the wrong person. Because returning to Anupamaa is not in my hands. That decision lies with the producer Rajan Shahi and the channel. If there is something interesting in the story, I would definitely like to return. If there is nothing interesting, then I wouldn’t want to come back. That is also a factor.”
Gaurav, who played the role of Anuj Kapadia in ‘Anupamaa’, had quit the show in 2024.
The actor further said that he hasn’t been following the sitcom closely of late and hasn’t had any discussion with the makers about a possible return.
“And it is one of my most liked and most loved characters. Why wouldn’t I want to return? It’s just that right now, in the current story, I don’t think… I’m not even following the show at the moment, so I have no idea what is going on or how it is progressing. I have no idea. I haven’t had any conversation about it. Rajan sir hasn’t said anything like that yet. I know that fake news keeps surfacing in between,” he added.
Pointing out that frequent flashbacks of his character in the show might be making fans believe of his possible return, but he has no such plans as of now.
“Or it could also be that the show often uses my flashbacks, so people feel that I am returning or that there has been some discussion. Yes, they show a lot of my flashbacks in the show- my old scenes and all. Fans tag me in them. That’s good, good for them and good for me. You all will always remember Anuj. So, for now, there is no such plan. But I always say ‘never say never’,” he said.
