Puri: The district administration clarified that it was not mandatory for people visiting Pilgrim Town to produce a COVID-19 negative report for staying in hotels here.
According to the official order, tourists are only required to produce their reservation ticket of the hotel.
“It is hereby clarified that any person coming from another district/states to stay in hotels located in Puri Municipal area is required to produce the reservation ticket of the hotel at NAKA points instead of COVID-19 negative report,” the order said.
Tehsildars-cum-Incident Commanders along with the lICs of the respective police stations have been directed to ensure strict implementation of the order without any deviation.
The clarification followed a few reports about tourists being stopped by police personnel from entering the town on failing to produce COVID-19 negative report.
Puri was out of bounds for people till July 31 in view of the surge in COVID-19 cases in the district.
