ISL-10: Odisha FC Concede Injury-Time Goal To Suffer 1st Defeat Despite Mourtada Brace
Panjim: Odisha FC went down fighting 2-3 to FC Goa on Saturday in their first away match of ISL-10.
Mourtada Fall gave Odisha an early lead at the Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, finding the back of the net in the sixth minute by turning in a corner kick.
The Kalinga Warriors held on to the slender lead till 10 minutes after half-time before they conceded a penalty. Moroccan forward Noah Sadaoui converted the penalty to level scores. In the 68th minute, he scored again to put FC Goa ahead.
Mourtada made it 2-2 with a thunderous right-footer in the 81st minute following a corner.
A draw seemed imminent, but defender Jay Gupta broke Odisha hearts with a fine strike six minutes into injury time.
It was Odisha FC’s first defeat in three games, having won their opener and drawn the second match on home turf at Kalinga Stadium.
