New Delhi: Ever since Israel struck Iran 10 days ago, the two nations have continued to hit each other savagely with missiles.
Even the US attacked nuclear facilities in Iran less than 48 hours ago, with the stated purpose being to stop the regime from expanding its nuclear programme and making weapons of mass destruction.
Iran, which has vowed to hit back at the US, on Monday launched a fresh barrage of missiles targeting Israeli airports and also claimed to have destroyed three airplanes.
Israel responded immediately, hitting Tehran’s Evin prison which is known for holding dual nationals and westerners who are used by Iran as bargaining chips in negotiations with the West.
Israel went a step further with its military issuing an evacuation warning to residents of Tehran living near military facilities, saying those areas will be targeted in the coming days.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a post on X that Israeli army will continue its attacks against military targets in the Tehran region in the coming days.
“To maintain your personal safety, we ask you to stay away from weapons production centres, military bases, and security institutions affiliated with the regime,” stated the post, in Persian.
China, Russia show support for Iran
Meanwhile, China’s Foreign minister Wang Yi said that US attacks on Iranian nuclear sites set a “bad precedent”.
Wang also stated that Israeli attacks on Iran on the basis of “possible future threat” sent “wrong signals” to the world.
Russia also stood by Iran.
Russian Deputy Foreign minister Sergei Ryabkov said that Iran has the “full right to self-defence.”
Ryabkov said that the strategic partnership between Russia and Iran is “unbreakable”, reports TASS.
