Mumbai: As Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandana’s ‘Thamma’ hit theatres on October 21, the film’s end credit scene confirmed Aneet Padda’s appearance in and as ‘Shakti Shalini’.
Rumours about Aneet replacing Kiara Advani in the horror franchise had been doing the rounds for quite some time, but the official announcement came only with ‘Thamma’.
As the romantic horror comedy ‘Thamma’ is a part of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, its makers decided to attach the announcement teaser of Aneet’s ‘Shakti Shalini’ in the end credits scene.
The clip, which has gone viral, features: “The protector. The destroyer. The mother of all. Aneet Padda in Shakti Shalini. Shakti unleashed Dec 24, 2026.”
An excited user posted, “This movie will prove Aneet’s capability as an actor she really has to work hard for this on her skills.”
Another netizen shared, “If she actually pulls it off, we might finally have a proper Gen Z actor going full-on mainstream in the making. Super exciteddd for this one!”
“I think it will be a litmus test for her… hope she comes out good,” one netizen said.
