Jaane Kahan Gaye Woh Din! Ex IAS Batchmates From Odisha Relive Fond Memories
Bhubaneswar: What happens when an MP meets a Union Minister at his office? They share fond memories and have a hearty laugh.
This is what happened when Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi called on Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi on Saturday.
Tweeting about the meeting, Sarangi wrote, “Met my dear friend, IAS batch mate and cadre mate @AshwiniVaishnaw today in Delhi. Was such a pleasure; laughed heartily over old memories.”
They are 1994 Odisha-cadre IAS officers. Aparajita joined the saffron party in November 2018 ahead of the 2019 General Elections after taking voluntary retirement from the service. Vaishnav joined the party in June 2019, a day after being named the BJP nominee for Rajya Sabha.
But it was certainly not all fun and no business. “Discussed a host of issues. Sought his support for my Bhubaneswar Constituency and our Odisha. Assured him of my full support,” the MP added.
Earlier, Aparajita had expressed happiness over Vaishnaw’s induction in the Union Council of Ministers.
Hailing Vaishnaw as a batchmate and a close friend, Aparajita had said his Cabinet berth was good news for Odisha and it will impact the state positively.
