Mumbai: Weeks after Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez denied dating Sukesh Chandrasekhar, the prime accused in a Rs 200 crore extortion case, a viral photo of her with conman has sparked a row.
In what seems to be a mirror selfie clicked by Chandrasekhar himself with iPhone 12 Pro, Jacqueline is seen smiling as the conman kisses her on her cheek. It was apparently clicked in April-June this year when the conman was out on interim bail, the India Today reported.
The iPhone 12 Pro is the same with which Sukesh carried out the scam using an Israeli SIM card, it added.
Notably, Jacqueline was last month questioned by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the extortion case involving the millionaire conman and his wife, actor Leena Maria Paul.
Sukesh had allegedly met the actress about four times in Chennai and arranged a private jet for her for these meetings, the report quoted ED sources as saying.
Anant Malik, the lawyer representing Sukesh Chandrashekhar, had confirmed to the media that Jacqueline and Sukesh were dating each other. Jacqueline, however, categorically denied the ‘alleged slanderous statements made about her relationship with the involved couple’.
According to some media reports, Sukesh used to call Jacqueline from the prison and send her chocolates and flowers as gifts. It is being said that the actress possibly became a victim of the conman’s racket as he hid his true identity and called her through caller ID spoofing from Tihar jail.
