New Delhi: Electric vehicles (EV) are slowly entering India. Days after Mercedes launched its luxury EQC EV, Jaguar Land Rover India announced that it is all set to roll out its first fully electric vehicle, I-Pace, here.
The SUV will be launched in the first quarter of 2021, Rohit Suri, President & Managing Director reportedly said.
The new SUV, which has already been listed on the Indian website, will come in 3 trims – S, SE and HSE.
It is powered by two electric motors producing 394 BHP power and 696 Nm torque. It does 0-100 km/h time is 4.8 seconds and it has a top speed of 200 km/h. The battery is a 90 kWh pack and gives a range of 470 km in the WLTP cycle.
The company will also be launching plug-in hybrid models of the Defender.
In other news, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said its electric cars will be available for booking from January 2021.
