New Delhi: The JEE-Advanced 2020 exam for admission to IITs will be held on May 17.
The Joint Admission Board of the IITs, which met on September 15 finalised the date and took several key decisions about the admission process, NDTV said in a report.
Key takeaways from the meeting as reported are:
1. JEE-Advanced will be held on May 17, 2020. The first paper will start at 9 am and the second paper at 2.30 pm. Both the papers will be of three-hour duration each.
2. The number of candidates appearing for the JEE-Advanced will be increased to 2.50 lakh. Earlier 2.40 lakh candidates from JEE-Main were shortlisted for JEE-Advanced.
3. For the first time, JEE-Advanced examination will be conducted at San Francisco apart from Dubai, Dhaka, Kathmandu and Singapore. The Centres in Addis Ababa in Ethiopia and Colombo in Sri Lanka will be dropped due to lack of students.
4. The examination will be conducted by IIT Delhi. Last year, IIT Roorkee had organised the exam. Over 1.61 lakh candidates had appeared and 38,705 had cleared it.
