Journalist Banned For 2 Years For ‘Intimidating’ Cricketer Wriddhiman Saha; Check BCCI Order

Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday banned journalist Boria Majumdar for two years for intimidating cricketer Wriddhiman Saha.

The BCCI had formed a 3-member committee, comprising vice-president Rajeev Shukla, treasurer Arun Dhumal and Apex Council member Prabhtej Bhatia, to investigate the allegation after Wriddhiman shared a screenshot of messages on February 23, in which an unnamed journalist threatened him for an interview. The journalist earlier claimed that Saha had “doctored” the WhatsApp screenshots of the chats between them before sharing it online.

The committee, however, found him guilty of intimidating the veteran wicketkeeper.

According to the order accessed by NDTV, Majumdar has been banned from getting accreditation as a member of the press in any of the cricket matches (domestic and international) in India, he cannot interview any registered players in India for 2 years and access any BCCI or member associations owned cricket facilities.
