Balasore: Amid growing protests over the chaining of journalist to hospital bed, the Nilagiri police station IIC Draupadi Das has been transferred to the Police District Headquarters.
Informing mediapersons, IG, Eastern Range (in-charge) Narasingha Bhol, who is investigating the case, said Nilagiri IIC and Investigating Officer Subarna Behera have been transferred to Police District Headquarters till completion of the probe into the incident of leg-cuffing a journalist to hospital bed.

Lokanath Dalei, the journalist works for a local news channel, has been shifted to the ICU after his condition deteriorated.
According to reports, Nilagiri police station IIC Draupadi Das had ordered legcuffing the journalist to the hospital bed. Dalei was hospitalised after being allegedly assaulted by the IIC in the police station, where he was reportedly called in connection with a case of abusing and assaulting a Home Guard.
