Journalist’s Complaint Against Salman Khan Quashed By High Court; Know The Case

Mumbai: The Bombay High Court on Thursday quashed a complaint of misbehaviour against Salman Khan, lodged by a journalist in 2019.

Ashok Pandey had alleged that he was abused and assaulted by the Bollywood megastar and his bodyguard Nawaz Shaikh when he tried to film the actor while he was cycling on the road. Salman allegedly got into an argument and threatened Pandey, the complainant claimed.

Allowing the applications filed by Salman and his bodyguard, a single bench of Justice Bharati Dangre quashed the process (summons) issued to the duo by a lower court last year.

In March last year, a magistrate’s court had directed Salman and Nawaz to appear before it on April 5, 2022.

Salman approached the high court challenging the summons. The high court stayed the summons on April 5, pending hearing of the actor’s petition. Nawaz filed a petition later challenging the summons, which was also stayed by the high court.
