JP Nadda Likely To Succeed Amit Shah As BJP Chief

Decks are being cleared for Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda to take over as the new party president as Amit Shah gets ready to join the Cabinet, said an IANS report.

Nadda, 59, is a low-profile Rajya Sabha member and also Parliamentary Board secretary of the BJP. He is known as a master strategist in the party. The party had given him charge of Uttar Pradesh, where it bagged 62 out of 80 Lok Sabha seats in the recently concluded elections.

Educated at St. Xavier’s School, Patna, Nadda did his B.A. from Patna College, Patna University and LL.B. from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. He is a three-time MLA in the Himachal Assembly.
