Paradip: JSW awarded ‘Udan’ scholarship to meritorious students from 3 panchayats of its proposed plant area in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district.
The scholarship has been awarded to the students who are pursuing courses including ITI, diploma courses, and others. Around 94 students received same scholarship during 2022-23 financial year. Of them, 70 students are from three local panchayats, while others are from Paradip and other surrounding panchayats.
The scholarship is specifically given to students pursuing higher education and professional education such as ITI, Diploma, BTech, MBA, MCA, and others.
The company has disbursed total Rs 24.52 lakh for the scholarship this year. It has targeted to provide about Rs 40 lakh of scholarship in this fiscal. Scholarship amount was deposited in the bank accounts of the students on May 15.
Purnima Sahu and Ananya Das, BTech students expressed their joy after receiving the scholarship. Local students including Biswajit Ojha, Shrabanee Prusty, Prithwiraj Lenka, Swaraj Swain, and Biswa Bismaya Tamil Pradhan, who also received the financial incentive, said it would boost their confidence to strive more.
