Cuttack: Shibasish Sahoo produced a stellar bowling performance to help Cuttack B beat Sundargarh by four wickets in a Diamond group preliminary league match of the Kalahandi Cup at Railway Stadium on Sunday.
Shibasish bagged six wickets conceding just 31 runs in 10 overs to skittle out Sundargarh for 124 in 34 overs. Cuttack B reached the target losing 6 wickets and with 24.2 overs to spare.
Odisha Ranji batsman Sandeep Patnaik scored a fine century to power BBSR-A to a 57-run victory over Sambalpur. After Sandeep’s 122-ball 118 guided BBSR-A to 275/8, Sambalpur were restricted to 218/5 in their quota of 45 overs.
BBSR-B also posted a big win, thanks to Rohit Sagar’s 116. After piling up 336/7 in 50 overs, BBSR-B stopped Mayurbhanj 99 runs short.
In other matches, Cuttack-A trounced Jajpur by 150 runs, Jharsuguda got the betterof Rourkela by 6 wickets, Cuttack-B overcame Sundargarh by 4 wickets and ECORSA routed Khurda by 126 runs.
