Mumbai: Actor and politician Kangana Ranaut, in her characteristic style, has expressed her anger against Sonam Raghuvanshi, the woman from Indore in Madhya Pradesh, accused of getting her husband Raja Raghuvanshi killed, while on a honeymoon trip to Meghalaya.
Kangana, a BJP MP from Himachal Pradesh, has called Sonam dumb and warned society against trusting such ‘dumb’ people.
“How absurd is this! A woman can’t say no to marriage because she is scared of her own parents, but she can plan a cold-blooded murder with supari killers. This has been on my mind since morning, but I am not able to wrap my head around it! Uff, getting a headache now! She couldn’t even divorce or run away with her lover. How cruel, heinous, and above all, absurd and dumb. Dumb people should never be taken lightly; they are the biggest threat to any society. We often laugh at them and think they are harmless, but it’s not true; intelligent people may damage others for their own good, but remember a dumb person has no idea what they are doing! Be very aware of the dumbness around you,” the actress shared on Instagram.
Kangana’s feelings reflect the sentiments of thousands of others who also believe that Sonam had no reason to kill her unsuspecting husband. She could have just said no to the match or even walked out of the marriage, after taking Raja into confidence.
What has moved netizens the most is the reaction of Raja’s family. Despite everything regarding the probe, so far, being reported in the media, the dead man’s mother and brother have been saying that Sonam needs to be given an opportunity to prove her innocence.
The Meghalaya Police, meanwhile, have taken custody of Sonam and she has been flown from Patna to Guwahati via Kolkata. From Guwahati, the police will take her by road to Shillong in Meghalaya, where she will be interrogated by the police. Her four other co-accused, including Raj Kushwaha, with whom she was allegedly having an affair, will also be taken to Meghalaya. Once there, they will be taken to the crime scene for a reconstruction of events that led to Raja’s death.
