Mumbai: Actress turned politician, Kangana Ranaut recently became a target of trolls after stating that her journey to stardom was more difficult than Shah Rukh Khan’s.
Speaking at a recent event in Delhi, Kangana said, since Shah Rukh was from the nation capital, an urban region, and also convent educated, it wasn’t very tough for him to face the challenges in Mumbai. The actor, however, claimed that she, being from a small village, had to struggle more to reach where she is today.
Comparing her struggles to that of SRK, the actress said, “There is probably nobody else who came from a village and got such success in the mainstream. You talk about Shah Rukh Khan. They are from Delhi, convent-educated. I was from a village that nobody would have even heard of – Bhamla.”
Expressing that she doesn’t mind people disagreeing with her on this, she added, “Maybe others may disagree, but I feel it’s because I am brutally honest, not just with people but with myself too.”
Kangana’s remarks didn’t go down well with netizens and they started trolling her.
“I mean taking SRK’s name in the statement is itself proof enough that she wanted to belittle him and show herself as a bigger person.. please its better. To not defend Kangana”, wrote one.
Another commented, “Lol. Her parents put her in DAV in Chandigarh to study science. It was in the papers years ago, when she used to be more truthful.”
A third user wrote, “An actress like herself really doesn’t need to embarrass herself, her audiences can speak for herself 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️”
Another posted, “I like her but this is the limit !!”
