Kartik Aaryan’s Relatives Die In Mumbai Hoarding Collapse, Actor Attends Funeral
Mumbai: Among the 16 people who lost their lives in the Mumbai hoarding collapse on May 13 were Kartik Aaryan’s relatives Manoj Chansoria and Anita Chansoria.
The Bollywood actor, who is awaiting the release of ‘Chandu Champion’ in theatres next month, attended their funeral at Sahar crematorium.
The bodies of Manoj and Anita were recovered two days after the killer hoarding crashed on a fuel station in Ghatkopar area amid an unprecedented dust storm and strong winds.
Rescue teams which continued efforts to look for survivors found bodies of Chansoria couple in an almost decomposed state on May 15.
The 60-year-old Manoj retired as Air Traffic Control (ATC) general manager in March.
He and his 59-year-old wife were visiting Mumbai from Madhya Pradesh with to obtain visa for the United States, where their son Yash resides.
After Manoj’s phone was not reachable on Monday afternoon, Yash contacted his father’s former colleagues in Mumbai to help trace his parents.
Manoj’s colleagues, along with Mumbai Police personnel, managed to track their phone and found their last location to be in Ghatkopar near the Eastern Express Highway.
