Kochi: Ernakulam rural police are on the lookout for a native from Odisha, who allegedly supplied ganja in cycle pumps.
This followed seizure of over 24kg of ganja concealed inside 200 metallic bicycle pumps and arrest of four individuals from Murshidabad in West Bengal.
Due to heightened surveillance at railway stations under Operation D-Hunt, the accused disembarked in Coimbatore and reached Angamaly by bus. They were caught at the airport signal junction in Nedumbassery while travelling in an autorickshaw, posing as bicycle pump sellers with ganja concealed inside the pumps, according to reports.
The accused reportedly used to procure ganja from Odisha for Rs 2,000 per kg and sell it here for Rs 20,000 per kg, the police said, adding that the Odisha supplier would be apprehended soon.
