Hyderabad: Ever since the first glimpse of ‘Toxic’ was unveiled, anticipation for the Yash and Kiara Advani starrer has been steadily building.
Touted as Kiara’s boldest film yet, the project has generated significant buzz, with fans particularly praising the sizzling chemistry between the lead pair.
Amid the growing excitement, the actor has now revealed what convinced her to sign the much-awaited pan-India film.
In a conversation with Femina, Kiara said, “When I heard the narration, I was mesmerised by how well-fleshed-out this character was, all the meat an actor longs for. I felt I had reached a place in my career where I was confident enough to take on such a character.”
Elaborating on her approach to choosing roles, she added, “I don’t like stereotyping women in a box. We are so much more than that, so why shouldn’t our characters be?”
Kiara also shared that she is drawn to female characters who are strong, layered, and authentic. Her remarks have sparked speculation that her character in Toxic will embody those very qualities.
Last year, when the makers unveiled Kiara’s first-look poster from Toxic, the actor shared it on Instagram along with a note describing the role as her most challenging and transformative yet.
“A role that demanded more from me—physically, mentally, emotionally—and felt nothing short of transformative. My toughest one yet. Months of hard work. One fearless leap. To see this first look receive so much love means everything. Grateful beyond words,” she wrote.
Co-written by Yash and Geetu Mohandas and directed by Geetu Mohandas, ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups’ also stars Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, Tovino Thomas, and several others in pivotal roles.
